The Hydro-Climate Monitoring and Prediction Research Laboratory advances applied and interdisciplinary research on water and climate systems. Its work integrates ground-based observations, satellite data, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, geographic information systems, remote sensing, and modern data-analytics techniques to improve the understanding of hydro-climatic processes and support the management of related hazards.
The Laboratory’s research portfolio covers flood and drought monitoring and forecasting, water-resources management, climate-change impact assessment, risk and resilience analysis, urban water systems, and the development of early-warning and decision-support tools.
